Most Beautiful Phase

Hello everyone, My name is Dr. Deepali Srivastava & I would like to share, my experience of motherhood.

Before I present my story, I would like to state that that every woman is amazing in herself. Every Female in this world, throughout her life, keeps on playing a way more crucial role, from supporting herself, to supporting her family, and that too without any extended aspirations and sometimes on the cost of it.

It is one of a lifetime achievement, which we all deserve.

So, after my marriage, I had been diagnosed with a rare ovarian cyst, which demands my ovary to be removed immediately. That was a tough call for all of us coz as you all know ovaries are important for our reproduction. But I had to pay that price for my life.

Being a newly married couple with a reproductive problem invited everyone’s consideration of whether, I would be able to conceive…??

Even My gynecologist, our family members, everyone around the corner advised me to conceive as soon as I can, because I was running on a Ovarian clock, which created an immense pressure on both of us for which we both weren't ready. Because It had been only few months to our marriage, and we wanted to enjoy every smallest bit that we could. We wanted to explore new places, enjoy the scenic beauties, everything what we have dreamt, pre-marriage but now it's seems like our fairy world of adventure was compromised for Responsibility of a Child, which we both were not equipped for.

2 months after my operation, I conceived. It was a shock to us but as we all were worried and our family gynecologist advised, we decided to move ahead.

We started with regular appointments to the local known gynecologist, and everything was smooth. We also started practicing our life with a baby (keeping all those natal needs in consideration, the husband was cornered on the bed and I had proclaimed myself queen). Things were fine until the day when in one of the regular USG we found that our baby's heartbeat was less than usual.

My heart sank when I heard the doctor's saying that "heart beat is not at all proper, it’s very very low". Although I didn't understand completely, what he meant, but something was wrong for sure. He advised me to take proper rest and told me that I might have a miscarriage.

We went home, without saying a word to each other and the same night, I went through severe miscarriage. It was way painful and I pray it shouldn’t happen to anyone, as I was too weak to carry a child, post my severe operation of Ovarian Cyst, but you all can understand the pressure on a women she can be in. I took the chance and lost myself in that moment forever.

Well, After that we decided to give ourselves time, to establish our bond stronger and not to go by the rules of society.” My motherhood My choice “I will conceive, whenever I am mentally, financially and physically prepared to bear the responsibility of a child of my own or even adopted one, coz my love for a child was not related to blood listing.

Leaving all the negativity behind, I focused on my Studies, completed my post-graduation and stood up as a more confident, social and positive person.

After 4 Years of marriage, when we didn’t even planned a baby but god surprised us with a full-term delivery of a cute little healthy girl child.

Now it's been almost a year and my Moon pie is about to turn 1 and I can say that even though last year had its share of difficult times, yet it was the most wonderful and the most beautiful year of my life.

Watching your child growing from a fetus to a person is a great journey, establishing contact with him/her through touches and noises, his/her expressions, aggression and happiness, always creates a new world for you. A fetus who was just a cell, witnessing it walking on his/her feet is a journey which is not explainable in any language at all.

Well in the end, I want to establish that though motherhood sure is one of the most beautiful phases of every woman's life, but one should go for it only when she is fully prepared for it and not just because of society's pressure or age constraint.

Stay positive, Motherhood is an amazing experience but being a women itself makes you damn remarkable
